NPL 2026 Tickets: Lumbini vs Chitwan Refund Explained

NPL 2026 Tickets: Lumbini vs Chitwan Refund Explained

October 31, 2026

Spectators who bought tickets for Saturday’s cancelled Nepal Premier League match between Lumbini Lions and Chitwan Rhinos may be entitled to refunds under eSewa’s published terms. Whether they are is unclear, because the evening match is likely to go ahead. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has not yet announced a final decision on whether holders will get their money back or be allowed to attend another match.

CAN secretary Paras Khadka confirmed the 12:30 pm match was called off because of rain, and each team was awarded one point. The Kathmandu Post reported that it was abandoned without a toss and that the second match, Biratnagar Kings vs Sudurpaschim Royals, was likely to go ahead, possibly with fewer overs.

What eSewa’s policy says. eSewa, the ticketing partner, states that confirmed tickets cannot be cancelled. Refunds are available only if a match is cancelled or abandoned before a single ball is bowled in any match at the stadium that day, and administration fees may be deducted. Because that wording refers to any match at the stadium that day, it is not clear whether it covers the 12:30 pm ticket holders if the evening match is played. Neither eSewa nor CAN had clarified this when this was written.

What officials have said.

  • NPL Governing Council member Sudip Sharma told Annapurna Post that eSewa would refund tickets bought for the day in full if both matches were cancelled. That statement covered the case where both matches were cancelled.
  • CAN treasurer Padam Bahadur Khadka told Nepal Press that arranging for ticket holders to watch another match, or refunding them, was under discussion. He suggested tickets could also be made valid for a day of the spectator’s choosing.
  • CAN vice president Roshan Singh called the spectators’ demand for refunds justified and said the organizer must decide. He said water had entered the ground from outside and drainage had been blocked during construction work.

Ticket prices. CAN sets league-stage prices at Rs 500 for general and Rs 1,000 for premium tickets.

What is not decided. No claim process, deadline, or exchange scheme had been published when this was written. Check the NPL 2026 tickets page and the eSewa app for updates.

The next scheduled matches at Kirtipur are Janakpur Bolts vs Pokhara Avengers on 1 November at 5:00 pm and Kathmandu Gurkhas vs Karnali Yaks on 2 November at 12:30 pm. Whether tickets can be used for them has not been announced. The full NPL 2026 schedule is on the site.
