September 07, 2026
Himalaya Sports won NPL Season 3 TV broadcast rights with a Rs. 172.4 million bid, while NetTV secured OTT streaming rights for Rs. 180.4 million, per CAN's bid opening on September 7, 2026.
Himalaya Sports (Himalaya Television) has been awarded the television broadcast rights for the Nepal Premier League (NPL), while NetTV has secured the tournament's over-the-top (OTT) streaming rights, after the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) opened bids at its office on Monday.
Himalaya Sports won the broadcast rights with a bid of Rs. 172.4 million, including taxes. The company said the bid was more than five times the value of last year's broadcast rights and nearly 2.5 times the minimum bid set for this edition.
NetTV secured the OTT rights with the highest bid of Rs. 180.4 million, excluding taxes. Digo Stream, backed by Dish Home, was the only other bidder for the OTT category and had offered Rs. 170 million excluding taxes. NetTV counts WorldLink among its investors.
NetTV CEO Niran Rajbhandari confirmed the company had submitted the winning bid, adding that CAN was expected to send formal confirmation by email once its internal procedures were complete.
CAN has set subscription price caps for the OTT platform, permitting charges of up to Rs. 400, including taxes, within Nepal; Rs. 600 in Gulf countries; and $10 in other countries.
In a statement, Himalaya Sports said the broadcast rights acquisition reflected more than a commercial investment, calling it a long-term commitment to Nepali cricket and pledging quality and wider coverage of the tournament. The company added that the rising value of the rights demonstrated the potential to build a commercially sustainable competition and strengthen Nepal's broader cricket ecosystem.
With broadcast and streaming partners now confirmed, focus shifts to the release of the full NPL Season 3 schedule and squad announcements ahead of the tournament.
