Chitwan Rhinos have announced the signing of English all-rounder Daniel Richard Mousley for Nepal Premier League Season 3. The franchise confirmed the addition on its official Instagram account, stating that Mousley is set to don the Chitwan Rhinos jersey as the team prepares for the third edition of the tournament.

The announcement comes on the day the Rhinos open their NPL 2026 campaign against Biratnagar Kings at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The match is scheduled for 12:30 PM Nepal Time.

Who is Daniel Richard Mousley?

Daniel Richard Mousley, commonly known as Dan Mousley, is a left-handed batting all-rounder who bowls right-arm off-breaks. The 25-year-old from Warwickshire has represented England in ODIs and T20Is, making his international debut in 2024 against the West Indies. He is a regular for Warwickshire in domestic cricket and has gained franchise experience in leagues including The Hundred and the ILT20.

His ability to contribute with the bat in the middle order and offer a different spin option with his relatively quick off-breaks makes him a versatile addition for T20 conditions.

Today’s game is the second match of NPL Season 3. Biratnagar Kings, captained by Sandeep Lamichhane, won the toss and elected to bowl first. Chitwan Rhinos are led by Kushal Malla, with former Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir serving as head coach.

Chitwan Rhinos’ Season 3

Chitwan finished seventh in the 2025 season after reaching the Eliminator in the inaugural edition. The franchise has rebuilt with a mix of retained domestic players, auction buys, and overseas signings, including Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, England’s Ravi Bopara, Canada’s Kaleem Sana, and Pakistan’s Usama Mir. Mousley adds further batting and bowling depth to a squad aiming to improve on last year’s league position.

The full NPL Season 3 schedule runs from October 26 to November 21, with all matches at Kirtipur. The complete fixture list is available on the NPL 2026 schedule page.

Overseas all-rounders who can bat and bowl have historically influenced NPL results. Mousley’s recent England experience and domestic form with Warwickshire give Chitwan an additional flexible option in the middle overs or as a finisher. Whether he plays a significant role will depend on his availability, fitness, and how the coaching staff integrates him alongside the existing overseas group.
