Australian batter Sam Heazlett switches to Kathmandu Gorkhas for NPL Season 3
October 25, 2026
Australian left-handed batter Sam Heazlett will play for Kathmandu Gorkhas in the third season of the Nepal Premier League, which begins on Monday, October 26. Heazlett gives the Gorkhas another overseas batting option alongside David Warner. According to Onlinekhabar, the franchise has also signed Australia’s Will Bosisto, KS Bharat, and Sri Lanka’s Sahan Arachchige. That makes five reported overseas players. Under the ICC sanction CAN announced on October 16, franchises can register up to eight overseas players, with four allowed in the playing XI, the Kathmandu Post has reported.
All career figures below are as reported by Onlinekhabar and have not been independently checked:
His most visible NPL innings for Biratnagar came on December 6, 2025, in the second season. He made 51, and Faf du Plessis added 50, as the Kings chased 148 against Sudurpaschim Royals in 11.5 overs. They won by six wickets and secured a place in the first qualifier, Ratopati reported.
A schedule listing on SportsCafe shows the Gorkhas’ first fixture as Janakpur Bolts on October 29. That has not been confirmed against CAN’s official fixture list. See the NPL 2026 fixtures page for updates and the Kathmandu Gorkhas team page for squad changes.
