Himalaya Sports has welcomed Saroj Kumar Mandal and Saroj Kumar Sooryabanshi as Maithili-language commentators for its coverage of Nepal Premier League Season 3.

The broadcaster released a welcome graphic featuring the two presenters alongside the NPL and Himalaya Sports logos. Both have been identified as part of the Maithili commentary panel for the tournament, which begins on 26 October 2026.

The move expands Himalaya Sports’ multi-language approach to NPL coverage. The broadcaster, which holds the rights for Season 3, has already assembled a wider panel that includes international guests and analysts. Earlier this month, Himalaya Sports confirmed former Ireland cricketer Kevin O’Brien as an expert analyst and announced that former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar would appear as a special guest on its pre- and post-match program, Red Bull Cricket Live in Association with Bajaj Pulsar.

Maithili commentary is expected to serve audiences in Nepal’s Madhesh region and among the wider Maithili-speaking community. Previous seasons of the NPL have included Nepali-language commentary on select platforms, and the addition of dedicated Maithili voices reflects the tournament’s growing attempt to reach viewers beyond English and Nepali feeds.
