Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz will play for Chitwan Rhinos in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026.

The left-handed batter and left-arm spinner is an international player with experience in all three formats. Nawaz has played 98 T20Is for Pakistan, scoring 911 runs and taking 101 wickets. He has also played 6 Tests and 44 ODIs.

Chitwan’s announcement is the basis for this report. We have not seen a separate statement from the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) or the NPL organizers. 

Nawaz offers a left-arm spin option with the ball and a left-hand batter in the middle order, which gives the Rhinos balance between bat and ball. Where he fits in the playing XI depends on Chitwan’s final squad, which had not been fully detailed in the sources available.

Chitwan’s NPL record so far

Chitwan has reached the knockout stage before. In the inaugural 2024 edition, the Kushal Malla-led side qualified for the playoffs with eight points from seven games. They lost to Karnali Yaks twice that season, first in the league stage and then in the Eliminator. 

Their second edition began in November 2025 with a first-ever win over Karnali Yaks, but they then lost to Lumbini by six wickets.
