Karnali Yaks have confirmed the signing of Pakistani all-rounder Hussain Talat for the third season of the Nepal Premier League. The franchise announced the move for the 30-year-old as “Pakistan’s powerhouse all-rounder," stating that he is “officially a YAK now.”

Talat, a left-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler, has represented Pakistan in 12 ODIs and 23 T20Is. He has scored 224 runs in ODIs and 441 runs in T20Is, where he has also taken seven wickets. Across T20 cricket overall, he has played more than 200 matches, accumulating around 3,950 runs with one century and 21 fifties, while taking 83 wickets. He has extensive Pakistan Super League experience, primarily with Peshawar Zalmi and earlier with Islamabad United, and has also featured in other T20 leagues.

This is not Talat’s first association with Karnali Yaks. The franchise had contracted him for the inaugural 2024 season, but he did not arrive for the tournament. Online Khabar reported the current signing and noted the earlier non-appearance. The Yaks have already secured Bangladeshi players Akbar Ali and Ariful Islam as overseas recruits for the 2026 campaign.

The addition gives Karnali Yaks another experienced middle-order option who can contribute with the bat and offer medium-pace support. Captain Sompal Kami’s side finished sixth in the 2025 season and will look to improve on that result in a tournament that begins on 26 October 2026 and runs until 21 November. All matches will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Karnali Yaks open their campaign on 27 October against Janakpur Bolts.

With ICC sanction for the 2026 edition, franchises can register up to eight overseas players, though a maximum of four can feature in the playing XI. Talat’s availability will depend on clearance from the Pakistan Cricket Board, consistent with the league’s rules for all foreign participants, including those with recent international experience.
