CAN awarded NPL Season 3 media rights to NetTV (Rs. 180.4M OTT rights) and Himalaya TV (Rs. 146.5M linear TV rights), plus eSewa (Rs. 8.5M ticketing rights), totaling over Rs. 335 million.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has confirmed that the third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will generate more than Rs. 335 million in combined media and ticketing rights revenue, marking a sharp increase over the tournament's second edition.

CAN announced on Monday that it had completed its bidding process for NPL Season 3 and awarded rights across three separate deals. NetTV was awarded worldwide OTT streaming rights for Rs. 180.4 million, while Himalaya TV secured linear television broadcast rights for Rs. 146.5 million. Digital wallet provider eSewa was awarded ticketing rights for the tournament for Rs. 8.5 million.

Under the ticketing agreement, CAN will retain 95 percent of total ticket revenue, with eSewa keeping the remaining five percent. The terms were confirmed in a press release signed by CAN Secretary Paras Khadka.

Revenue Nearly Quadruples From Season 2

The total figure of Rs. 335.4 million for Season 3 represents a substantial jump from NPL's second edition, when CAN collected Rs. 91 million across the same categories. In that edition, DishHome held OTT rights under a minimum-guarantee model worth Rs. 35 million, and Kantipur Television held linear broadcast rights for Rs. 30 million. Ticketing rights for Season 2 went to digital wallet Khalti for Rs. 8 million—Rs. 500,000 less than eSewa's fee for Season 3.

The increase reflects growing commercial interest in the NPL as the tournament heads into its third year, with streaming rights alone accounting for more than half of the total package.

With broadcast and ticketing partners now confirmed, attention turns to the release of the full NPL Season 3 schedule and fixture list, along with confirmation of participating squads ahead of the tournament.
