Ahamad is a genuine all-rounder — a left-handed middle-order batter and slow left-arm orthodox spinner — though his batting has been the more prominent side of his game in recent NPL seasons. He has developed a reputation as a finisher capable of playing under pressure in the closing overs: his most notable NPL innings came against Karnali Yaks in November 2025, an unbeaten 62 off 43 balls that included a six off the second-to-last ball to seal a three-wicket win with Biratnagar Kings needing 4 off 2 in the final over. As a bowler, his slow left-arm orthodox spin has been used more sparingly for the franchise, with his 2024 NPL contribution split across both bat and ball (181 runs and 6 wickets in his debut season). He has not held a national or franchise captaincy to date.

Ahamad was born on 11 September 2003 in Kapilvastu, Nepal. He came through Nepal's domestic and age-group structures before making his senior representative debut in 2022, when he was still a teenager.

Ahamad made his Twenty20 debut for Nepal on 1 May 2022 against Zimbabwe A, and his List A debut on 9 May 2022, also against Zimbabwe A — both unofficial fixtures played during Zimbabwe A's tour of Nepal. These matches served as his introduction to representative cricket ahead of his full international debut later that year.

Ahamad was named in Nepal's ODI squad for round 14 of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 in Scotland in June 2022 and made his ODI debut on 11 July 2022 against Namibia. He was named in Nepal's T20I squad for their series against Kenya in August 2022, making his T20I debut on 26 August 2022 against Kenya.

His senior international appearances since then have been sporadic — he has featured only occasionally for Nepal's full T20I side, including one previously reported T20I appearance against Scotland.

His biggest career moment to date came in January 2026, when he was named in Nepal's squad for the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup (co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, 7 February–8 March 2026), under the captaincy of Rohit Paudel. He was selected — alongside Lumbini Lions' Sher Malla — ahead of Kushal Malla and Adil Ansari, with Nepal's selectors citing his and Malla's NPL form as the deciding factor. This is expected to be his first appearance at a global ICC tournament.

He was named Player of the Match against Karnali Yaks on 28 November 2025 for an unbeaten 62 off 43 balls in a tense three-wicket win, and also contributed a 35-ball 36 in a nine-run win over Janakpur Bolts. Biratnagar reached the playoffs, including Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, before being eliminated by Lumbini Lions, who went on to win the title. His consistent middle-order form through the season was a key factor in Nepal selectors picking him for the T20 World Cup 2026 squad.

NPL 2026 (Season 3): Ahamad was confirmed among Biratnagar Kings' retained core ahead of the July 2026 auction, alongside Sandeep Lamichhane, Lokesh Bam, Narayan Joshi, Pratish GC, and Subash Bhandari — with one franchise report describing him as an "emerging all-rounder" central to the squad's rebuild.
