Ashok Dhami is a right-hand batter and slow left-arm orthodox spinner — a genuine all-round profile rather than a specialist. His most eye-catching performance to date actually came with the bat: in the final of the 2025/26 Prime Minister's Cup, playing for Sudurpaschim Province against Tribhuwan Army Club, he top-scored with 43 in a total team collapse (Sudurpaschim were bowled out for 161), while also picking up a wicket with the ball.

At youth level, he has captained Nepal's Under-19 side, batting in the middle order and typically not opening the bowling — his wicket tally across recent Under-19 fixtures has been modest, but he has shown he can hold an innings together under pressure, including an unbeaten 10 off 8 balls to help close out a tight run chase against the UAE at the 2025 ICC U19 World Cup Asia Qualifier, and a 2-wicket haul with the ball in the same match.

Dhami's rise has been through Nepal's provincial and age-group structure. He was described in early coverage as a standout performer at Under-16 level, and progressed through Nepal's Under-19 pathway to represent the country at multiple age-group tournaments by 2025.

Dhami represents Sudurpaschim (Far-Western) Province in Nepal's premier domestic 50-over event, the Prime Minister's Cup. He was part of the province's squad for the 2025/26 edition, where Sudurpaschim reached the final — becoming the first provincial (rather than departmental) team to do so — before losing to Tribhuwan Army Club by five wickets in Birgunj. Dhami top-scored for Sudurpaschim with 43 in that final and also took a bowling wicket, in what stands as his best senior domestic performance on record to date.

Dhami has represented Nepal extensively at Under-19 level through 2025:

April 2025: Played in Nepal's three-match one-day bilateral series against Afghanistan Under-19s (Nepal lost the series 2–1), with recorded scores of 24 and 1 in two matches at Mulpani.

April 2025: Featured in the 2026 ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier, hosted by Nepal at Mulpani. He top-scored an unbeaten 10 off 8 balls to help Nepal beat the UAE by 5 runs (DLS method) in the tournament opener, and also took 2 wickets in that match. Nepal narrowly missed qualification for the 2026 U19 World Cup after their decisive final match against Afghanistan was washed out by rain — both sides had won their first three matches, but Afghanistan progressed on net run rate.

December 2025: Named captain of Nepal's Under-19 squad for the 2025 ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup in Dubai — a significant step up in responsibility. Nepal were drawn in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, and lost all three group matches (to Sri Lanka by 8 wickets, to Bangladesh, and to Afghanistan by 6 wickets), finishing bottom of the group and missing the semi-finals.

He does not currently hold any senior-level (T20I, ODI, or Test) international caps.

Dhami made his move into professional franchise cricket in July 2026, when he was signed by the Chitwan Rhinos for NPR 200,000 (Category C) in the NPL Season 3 auction — his first NPL contract. He joins a Rhinos squad built around retained core players including marquee man Kushal Malla, Dev Khanal, Arjun Saud, and Kamal Singh Airee.

Ashok Dhami's only confirmed captaincy assignment to date is leading Nepal's Under-19 team at the 2025 ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup in December 2025. Based on that tournament: 3 matches captained, 0 wins, 3 losses (0% win percentage). This was a young and inexperienced Nepal side that finished bottom of a tough Group B featuring Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. He has not been reported as captain in any senior domestic, franchise, or international fixture to date.
