CAN Awards NPL Season 3 Media and Ticketing Rights Worth Rs 33.53 Crore
September 27, 2026
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has finalized the media and ticketing rights for the third edition of the Nepal Premier League, closing out a bidding and procurement process that determines who will broadcast, stream, and sell tickets for the tournament.
According to CAN's announcement, the three rights agreements carry a combined fixed value of Rs 33.53 crore, or roughly US$2.21 million, based on Nepal Rastra Bank's September 7 selling rate of NPR 151.48 per US dollar.
NetTV Pvt. Ltd. has secured the worldwide over-the-top streaming rights for Rs 18.04 crore (approximately US$1.19 million), making it the single largest of the three deals. Himalaya Television Network Pvt. Ltd. will hold the linear television broadcast rights within Nepal, acquired for Rs 14.64 crore (approximately US$966,000). eSewa Ltd. has taken the tournament's ticketing rights for Rs 85 lakh (approximately US$56,000).
Beyond the fixed rights fees, CAN's statement outlined how ticketing revenue will be split: the association will retain 15 percent of income generated through ticket sales, while eSewa will keep 5 percent as the appointed ticketing partner.
With these three agreements in place, the principal commercial infrastructure for the tournament's next edition is now settled—fans within Nepal will follow matches on Himalaya Television, international and digital audiences will have access via NetTV's streaming platform, and ticket purchases will run through eSewa.
CAN congratulated NetTV, Himalaya Television, and eSewa on winning their respective rights and said it looks forward to working with all three partners to make the third NPL season more organized and successful.
