October 08, 2026

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has awarded the media and ticketing rights for the third Nepal Premier League, with the three agreements carrying a combined fixed value of Rs 33.53 crore.

CAN completed the bidding and procurement process and announced the winners in a statement on 7 September 2026. The statement, signed by CAN secretary Paras Khadka, named NetTV Pvt. Ltd. as the worldwide OTT partner, Himalaya Television Network Pvt. Ltd. as the linear television broadcaster for Nepal, and eSewa Ltd. as the ticketing partner.

NetTV secured the worldwide streaming rights for Rs 18.04 crore (Rs 180.4 million), the largest of the three packages. Himalaya Television Network acquired the Nepal linear television rights for Rs 14.64 crore (Rs 146.4 million). eSewa took the ticketing rights for Rs 85 lakh (Rs 8.5 million). The OTT and television fees alone total Rs 32.68 crore.

Rights Winner Fixed Fee

Worldwide OTT NetTV Pvt. Ltd. Rs 18.04 crore

Linear television, Nepal Himalaya Television Network Pvt. Ltd. Rs 14.64 crore

Ticketing eSewa Ltd. for Rs 85 lakh

Combined fixed value—Rs 33.53 crore

Under the ticketing terms set out in the CAN statement, as reported by The Rising Nepal and Ratopati, the association will retain 95 percent of ticket-sales revenue, and eSewa will receive 5 percent. The Rs 85 lakh is a rights fee separate from that split. Some later secondary reports listed a different percentage for CAN; the figures above follow the accounts that cite the association’s statement.

CAN congratulated the three companies and said it would work with them to make the third edition more organized and better managed. The deal does not, by itself, set match-by-match ticket prices or a final television schedule.

The fixed rights income is a clear step up from the previous edition. The Rising Nepal, citing the same CAN announcement cycle, reported that CAN collected Rs 91 million in total from NPL 2 media and ticketing arrangements. The new fixed fees are more than three times that figure before any ticket-sales share is counted. Line-by-line comparisons with the second edition remain less settled in published reports, so the confirmed comparison is the overall rights value rather than any single previous contract.

For viewers, the practical split is straightforward. Matches in Nepal are due to be carried on Himalaya Television. Official streaming, including access outside Nepal, sits with NetTV under the worldwide OTT award. Stadium tickets are to be sold through eSewa. Nepalitelecom reported on 7 October 2026 that NetTV had opened a full-tournament streaming package at Rs 400, including taxes, in Nepal, with higher prices listed for viewers in the Middle East and in several other overseas markets. Those consumer prices are a commercial offer from the rights holder, not part of the September rights announcement.

The third edition is scheduled for 26 October to 21 November 2026 at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Published reports have listed defending champions Lumbini Lions against Sudurpaschim Royals as the opening match. Fans will still need the final fixture list for start times and eSewa’s sale window for the actual ticket prices and seat categories.
