Australian batting great David Warner is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on November 1, 2026, to join the Kathmandu Gorkhas for the remainder of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 3.

Warner signed with the Kathmandu franchise in mid-September and is expected to be available from their match against Karnali Yaks on November 2. He will not feature in the Gorkhas’ opening game of the season against Janakpur Bolts, which is being played today at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

In a video message released by the Kathmandu Gorkhas, Warner expressed his excitement about coming to Nepal. He said he was looking forward to meeting the fans and hoped the tournament would bring some joy to the people. He ended his message with the popular Nepali cheer “Ayo Gorkhali!”

The franchise has already announced winners of a special fan meet-and-greet with Warner. His arrival is being viewed as a major boost for both Kathmandu Gorkhas and the growing profile of the Nepal Premier League, which runs until November 21, 2026.

Warner’s signing is one of the biggest overseas recruitments in NPL history. The Australian left-hander is expected to strengthen the Gorkhas’ top order as they aim for a strong campaign in Season 3.
