Chitwan Rhinos have signed Pakistan leg-spinner Usama Mir for the Nepal Premier League Season 3; the franchise confirmed on 15 October 2026.
The official Chitwan Rhinos account announced the signing with the message “A new force joins the herd! Welcoming Usama Mir to the Chitwan Rhinos family for
NPL Season 3.” Player management agency Stem Sports also confirmed that the deal had been sealed for the 2026 tournament.
Usama Mir, a right-arm leg-spinner born on 23 December 1995 in Sialkot, has represented Pakistan in ODIs and T20Is. He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2024 Pakistan Super League, taking 24 wickets in 12 matches for Multan Sultans. He has also featured in the Big Bash League, The Hundred, and the Vitality Blast, where he signed a multi-year agreement with Worcestershire that begins in 2026.
The addition gives Chitwan a specialist wrist-spinner to complement their existing overseas roster of Zimbabwe all-rounder
Sikandar Raza, England all-rounder
Ravi Bopara, and Canada seamer Kaleem Sana. Domestic captain
Kushal Malla leads a side that finished seventh in NPL 2025 with four points from seven matches (two wins and five losses) and missed the playoffs.
NPL Season 3 is scheduled to run from 26 October to 21 November 2026, with matches expected to be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The ground has historically offered assistance to spin at times, and Mir’s variations and ability to take wickets in the middle and death overs give the Rhinos another tactical option in those phases.
Chitwan opened their Season 3 campaign against the
Biratnagar Kings on 27 October. Squad finalization and overseas availability clearances remain the next steps before the tournament begins.
