Janakpur Bolts Bring in Saif Hassan and Parvez Hossain Emon After Pakistani Duo Exit
October 29, 2026
Janakpur Bolts have moved quickly to reinforce their batting after confirming the arrival of Bangladeshi internationals Saif Hassan and Parvez Hossain Emon for NPL Season 3.
The franchise posted late on Wednesday night that the pair had landed, describing them as bringing “fresh fire and big-game energy” to the squad. The announcement comes after Pakistani players Iftikhar Ahmed and Hunain Shah were forced to leave the tournament following clearance complications with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Neither Iftikhar nor Hunain featured in Janakpur’s opening defeat to Karnali Yaks on Tuesday. The Bolts were bowled out for 113 while chasing 133 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Emon, a left-handed batter who was part of Bangladesh’s 2020 Under-19 World Cup-winning team, has a T20 International century to his name and prior experience in the Pakistan Super League. Saif Hassan, a right-handed batter and occasional off-spinner, has played Tests, ODIs, and T20Is for Bangladesh and brings a strike rate above 115 in the shortest format.
The additions give Janakpur extra batting options as they look to bounce back from a bottom-placed finish in 2025. The side, led by captain Harmeet Singh and still featuring Moeen Ali and Jimmy Neesham, faces Kathmandu Gorkhas later on Thursday at Kirtipur.
